Interested members of the public are admitted into the membership of the Institute through examinations. The Institute’s professional examination structure has been reviewed to be in line with development in Environmental & Public Health Management profession and the challenges of the millennium. The Institute’s examination is written twice in a year – June and December in designated centres throughout the country, namely Lagos, Ibadan, Abeokuta, Port Harcourt, Jos, Ado-Ekiti, Oshogbo, Ilorin, Akure, Benin, Kano, Calabar, Abuja, Ife, Makurdi, Enugu, and Zaria.

Only registered students of the institute are eligible to sit for the institute’s examinations. Registration as a student and for examination closes on the date stated below:
