The Institute of Environmental and Public Health Management of Nigeria (IEPHMN) is a national professional body charged with the responsibility of training, retraining and certifying Environmental and Public Health Practitioners in Nigeria. It is duly registered and approved by relevant authorities in Nigeria – Corporate Affairs Commission (RC: 1203551), Federal Ministry of Education and Federal Ministry of Justice.
The Institute was established as a result of paucity of reliable and dependable Environmental and Public Health Professionals in the country. It was founded with the aim of bringing together professional Environmental and Public Health Managers and other stakeholders to encourage greater understanding, synergy and institutional / research cooperation.
The Institute of Environmental and Public Health Management of Nigeria provides training, professional examinations/qualifications and related services to its members and other stakeholders. It promotes high standard of conduct for its members and contributes to improving Environmental and Public Health Management/Practice in Nigeria.
It also provides support for enhanced job opportunities and solid platform for career enhancement to its members.
The institute is empowered to standardizes Environmental and Public Health Professional Management through the conduct of Professional Examinations and other activities geared towards ensuring that interested members of the public become professional Environmental and Public Health Managers.
Active professionals are being re-packaged for daily work place and societal challenges by the Institute’s Resource Persons under the Research and Consultancy Unit.

The council is the apex organ of the Institute. It directs the affairs of the Institute and formulates its policies. It functions through the Secretariat and Committees.

1. Chief (Mrs.) Elizabeth Oluremi Adiukwu-Bakare – is an astute Environmentalist and Conservation Management expert. She was former Governorship aspirant on the platform of the defunct Nigerian Republican Convention (NRC) in Lagos State. She was also former Commissioner for Commerce & Industry and later Commissioner for Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs in Lagos State between 1999 and 2007. Adiukwu-Bakare is the CEO of UNISPACE Nigeria Limited, a company which consults for Federal and State Governments on Forest Carbon Projects and Carbon Emission Reduction (CER). She is one of Africa’s advocates on “Clean Development Mechanism” (CDM), “Carbon Credit Concept” (CCC) and “Reduction of Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation” (REDD) under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC). Her company, UNISPACE Nigeria Limited, represents Nigeria at the Global Oxygen Development Corporation, New York, USA. She is the President / Chairman of Council of the Institute.
2. Hon. (Dr.) Samuel Babatunde Adejare – is a medical doctor with practice experience spanning over two decades. He holds a Master degree in Public Health (MPH). Adejare was a two-term Chairman, House Committee on Health, Lagos State House of Assembly. He is currently a Member, House Committee on Health, Federal House of Representatives. He is the 1st Vice President of the Institute.
3. Barrister Adekola Dahood Mustapha – studied Law at the University of Lagos. He holds Master’s degree (LL.M) in Environmental Law.He has over two decades experience in Environmental Law Research and Publications in Nigeria and abroad. He has also served as Legal Consultant to several Committees on Environmental Pollution, Erosion and Environmental Impact Assessment, set up by the Federal Government of Nigeria. He is the 2nd Vice President of the Institute.
4. High Chief Taiwo Nasiru Bakare – is the traditional ruler of Omoleland (Ikeja Local Government of Lagos State.) He became the youngest Baale in Ikeja Local Government, Lagos State on October 2nd 1999 at the age of 37. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Educational Administration and Planning from the University of Lagos. He also holds post Graduate Diploma in Journalism, Advanced Production Certificate of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria and Diplomas in Table tennis and Football coaching respectively. He is a recipient of the prestigious community Leadership Awards Instituted by Rotary Club of Omole and the Rotaract Club of Isheri. He is the Treasurer of the Institute.
5. Chief Bashiru Ali (Bash Ali), OON – is a distinguished and world-acclaimed boxer and sports analyst. Bash Ali left Nigeria in 1974 for the United States of America on a wrestling scholarship – Mildred Burke Professional School of Wrestling, USA. Same year, he switched to boxing. A veteran cruiser weight world’s boxing champion and sports administrator, he is the President of Bash Ali Boxing Project. His dream was to be the oldest boxer to win a title through the Guinness Book of World Record Fight. He holds a national honour – Officer of the Order of Niger (OON).
6. Dr. Tunde Adesanya – is a Medical Doctor with over two decades experience. He holds a Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) and has served various Government Institutions as Community and Public Health Consultant. He is also an author of books on Community Health Practice in Nigeria.
7. Dr. Albert A. Idehen – is a product of College of Medicine, University of Benin. He has been practicing Public /Community Health for about three decades. He has worked as a Consultant to reputable private hospitals in Nigeria. He is a currently, a private Medical Practitioner in Lagos.
8. Prince Anya Njoku – is a Maritime/Marine Environment Policy Analyst. He is a product of World Maritime University, Sweden. His areas of specialization include Marine Pollution /Ports & Ships Waste Management. He has written over 100 articles on Maritime and Marine Environmental Pollution Management.
9. Engineer (Dr.) Joseph O. Ododo – studied engineering at the University of Lagos. He also holds a doctorate degree from the University of Liverpool, England. He is a visiting Lecturer to the University of Ghana, Legon on Environmental / Irrigation Engineering Designs. He is also a Resource Person to several professional bodies in Nigeria.
10. Prince George Ayoade – holds Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA). He also holds Post Graduate Diploma in Shipping Management. He is a Fellow of National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN), Certified Pension Institute of Nigeria (CPIN), Certified Institute of Marketing Commutations of Nigeria (CIMCN), and Member of the Institute of Environmental and Public Safety Management of South Africa. He was former Director of Marketing & Communications, Institute of Direct Marketing of Nigeria (IDMN) and Registrar/Chief Executive of Chartered Institute of Corporate Marketing & Management of Nigeria (CIMMN). He is Full Member of Nigerian Institute of Relations (NIPR) and Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM). He was one of the Pioneer Board Members of Ogun State Tourism Development Corporation (2003-2007). He is the Director General / Chief Executive Officer of the Institute.
